Simple, Good, Everyday Food

This site is about simple cooking, good ingredients and healthy vegetarian meals for everyday. It's about eating well and enjoying it.

My approach to healthy eating is pretty pragmatic. Sure, I like to cook my vegetarian recipes with the freshest, seasonal vegetables I can get my hands on. My family eats a lot of fruit, whole grains, beans, lentils and tofu.

But while I avoid processed foods as much as possible, there are no actual exclusions other than meat.
My kids eat ice-cream and I have a weakness for dark chocolate and red wine. Let's just say we do our best...

New Vegetarian?

A lot of people who contact me at everyday-vegetarian-recipes.com are new vegetarians or people thinking about making the change toward vegetarianism. If you do have any questions, please ask. I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years so hopefully I can help.

If you are a new vegetarian, I understand how easy it can be to fall back on frozen burgers or pizzas for an easy dinner choice. That's ok - once and a while - but it might just not be the best long term plan. Not only is it unhealthy - it's boring.

Ok, sometimes it's just hard to cook dinner when you don't have a lot of time. But with a bit of planning and lots of delicious easy vegetarian recipes, you and your family can eat well every day.

And don't worry. There are pizza and burgers too.

Let's Get Cooking!

I think if you want to be healthy, you need to fall in love with your food and you need to start cooking. No matter what way you look at it, if you don't cook, you are probably not eating healthily. (Ok, if you have a personal chef you may be an exception.)

But let's keep it simple. On everyday-vegetarian-recipes, the goal is good food made with good ingredients. All of these recipes were either created by me, by friends or adapted from favourite books gathered over the years. I hope you enjoy them.
